An Early Ending

I'm going to head out early for the weekend. This will be my last post until next Monday. I'm going with my mother in-law and her church ladies to a retreat Friday and Saturday. We will get to stay at the Embassy Suites. It's such a nice way to end this slow week.

I took everyone's advice and bought some yarn last night so I could start familarizing myself with it. I tried the finger knitted garland from Making Chicken Salad, which is actually quite simple I just realized my yarn really wasn't right for it and I didn't make it tight enough.
Here's my first try...
Oh, and I also picked up 2 yards of this fabric. It just screamed vintage.

Organizing Magazines

How do you organize/display your magazines? I found a couple of DIY projects that could be used for magazine storage. I'm beginning to have too many laying around so I'm thinking of only keeping the inspiring pages and putting them in a binder like this.

Or displaying them on a wall of clipboards

Keep Calm

My current project is to get one wall in my kitchen filled with art. If you would like to know the theme, I guess it would be tea or red. My husband was born in England, so in honor of his heritage I guess you could say that's how I formed my kitchen theme.

Over the Weekend, Briefly

A short delay this week so you're getting my Over the Weekend, Briefly on a Tuesday instead of a Monday. After spending the day with my mother in-law yesterday I hadn't had time to upload any photos until late last night.
I am starting a healthier diet. I had cereal with chopped bananas on Saturday. I've even started taking some vitamins to help give me more energy throughout the day.
My husband being the artist that he is painting these his and hers pumpkins at our church harvest party on Friday.
How was your weekend? Do tell!
