12 Weeks

I finally made it to 12 weeks and it feels great! I can now stop worrying about the risk of a miscarriage, is the baby growing?, etc. Those first few weeks seems to pass by slowly, but I know this whole process will seem that way when you're waiting for the little one to get here. I wanted to take a weekly photo starting at 12 weeks so here I am...
Baby's now the size of a plum!

Over the Weekend, Briefly

This weekend consisted of Paul taking me out to dinner at our favorite mexican restaurant and yogurt at Peachwave. Then he took me to Books a Million and I found this adorable pregnancy journal. I was going to make my own, but I figured it would end up costing more than the one I bought. I've already started filling it in and can't wait to add ultrasound pictures, etc. Tonight we are spending memorial day with some friends and cooking out at their house. I haven't had a good grilled hamburger in a while and it sounds yummy! I hope everyone has a safe and fun day!

Lazy Day

Now that I'm baking a bun in the oven I'm a completely a stay at home wife/future mom. It will be tough to get used to being a one income family but I'm confident we can do it as long as we make some sacrifices. It's been nice to be able to stay home and have lunch and dinner ready for when Paul comes home. I don't mind house chores, in fact I've kinda made up my own schedule. Obviously my schedule will change when the baby comes, but it works for now. I start doing the dishes and laundry on Wednesday and complete the laundry on Thursday. Friday is totally my free day to do what I want like bake, craft, etc. Today I enjoyed some peanut butter cookies and I've got plenty of flour, cake mixes and more in my kitchen cabinets so be on the look out for some yummy food posts.

Garden 2011

I was going to plant seeds for our garden this year. I think the only reason the idea was in my mind was because the seeds were only 10 cents each. I bought several seed packets, but we never got around to planting them in time. With all the excitement of the baby and everything it just kinda slipped through the crack. We still wanted to plant a garden though so we went to home depot and picked up a few plants and planted them last night.
We're really excited about this garden since it's our first. I plan to make my own salsa and pickled cucumbers at the end of the summer.

Weekend in Instagrams

We filled our weekend with a trip to the flea market, a couple of thrift stores and some ice cream. I left with a vintage metal tray that I'm going to re-design this week.

Let's Talk Plants

I've always loved plants and I can thank my parents for that. They've always been into gardening, growing their own flowers, fruits and vegetables. I can remember my parents being outside everyday in the spring and summer watering their plants and the grass. We always went to Lowes only to look at the gardening area, and they always read their gardening books before bed.
On Mother's Day, my parents and sister came over for lunch. My dad gave me, my mom and my sister our own little flower. This is my second plant, it's kinda funny because I've always wanted plants in my house, but I have always been kinda lazy to keep them up. Since living in my own home with Paul I have acquired 2 plants and I've done a great job watering them and keeping the sun on them. Pretty soon I'll need a bigger pot for this one.
Oh and for the photo curious readers, here's the details:
No flash, ISO 200, WB sunlight, shutter speed 80, FS 2.8

Where Have I Been?

I've used that phrase a few times in some way or another in my blogging lifetime. But, this time I have a better excuse...I hope! You see I've been working on some of my goals from this list. I finished a few of them and on one of them I'm just getting started. It will be completed sometime in December, which means I would have completed it before I turn 24 and before the year is over. If you've looked back at my list then you can probably guess that the goal I'm referring to is the expanding our family. Yes, that's right I am pregnant! Wow, feels good to say it in confidence now. I made my announcement to the world yesterday on Mother's Day at church and on the ole' Facebook. It has been so hard to keep this a secret, I know the typical wait is around 12 weeks, but we decided to step out on faith and announce it.
We had our first appointment today and everything looks and sounds perfect. I am currently 9 weeks along and plan on documenting a few baby related things on my blog. However, I promise not to bore you with it on every post.
