Photo Challenge- Day 30
Well we've made it to day 30! I never imagined so many would join in on this challenge, it's so amazing at how my readership has grown tremendously, like over 100 since Jennifer and I started the challenge! I must admit this challenge was tough a few times and I was so worried about the week I was going to be on vacation, but they all worked out great! My last photo for the challenge, day 30: In Motion is from last week when we were on vacation. This is our view from The Colonial Galveston Bay boat tour. Now, I want to know who followed through everyday of the challenge?

Day 29: Purchased. We don't have a Cost Plus World Market in our state so we usually take advantage of one that we see on vacation. We were driving into Dallas last week and saw one so we decided to stop and rest our legs. We went in and looked around at everything and when we got to the back where the world foods and candies were we spotted PG Tips, an English tea that my husband loves. We grabbed a box for Paul and a box for his dad.

Day 28: Daily Routine. I had a lot of things I could have done for this one: hair accessories, blog reading, breakfast, watering house plants, checking the mail and so on. But, I chose to take a picture of my simple toothbrush with blue Crest toothpaste, not too exciting, but definitely a daily routine!

Day 27: After Dark. Sorry today's challenge is up so late. I waited until it got dark to take my picture so that it would be actually taken today. I've got the link gadget open until tomorrow at 9:00 PM CST so that you'll have plenty of time to get it up since I'm late. This is a picture of our little home in the dark...

I'm Back!
I've wanted a vacation for so long now, I hadn't been anywhere since last summer when I went to California with my mother in-law. Paul promised me we would do something before the baby came so this trip was basically a baby moon. It was very low key and we did everything we wanted in 3 days, which is enough for me, by then I'm ready for my own bed. I've got instagrams to document all of the highlights of the trip and I thought I would share them on here for those who don't follow me on Instagram.
Our destination was Houston and Galveston, TX. From where we are it takes about 8 hours to get to Houston and another hour to Galveston. We found a great deal of a hotel and they even had a Texas shaped waffle maker!
We left early Monday morning and got to Houston around 6:00 pm so we checked into our hotel and went shopping in the outlets, of course everything was for the Baby. On Tuesday, we headed to Galveston and started at the Moody Gardens, which has 3 pyramids, each with a different attraction inside, we chose the rainforest one.
For dessert we stopped by an old fashioned ice cream parlor. The ice cream was so yummy, I had cherry pie and Paul had plain vanilla.
After dessert we headed for the beach at the Galveston seawall. We spent about an hour just playing around and collecting shells.
On Wednesday, we spent the day in Houston by going to the Downtown Aquarium and the Holocaust museum. The Hard Rock Cafe was located across the street from the Aquarium so we decided to go there for lunch.
After we finished lunch at Hard Rock, we headed to Crave Cupcakes, which is the one place I anticipated the whole trip. I tried a pumpkin cupcake and Paul tried the red velvet.I loved all of the colored mixers they had in the window, such a cute cupcake shop! If you're ever in Houston, you must go there! And of course, no trip is complete without IKEA. We left with more than we planned, which is what happens to us every time.
Lots of fun, but glad to be home!

Over the Weekend, Briefly
We celebrated my best friend's birthday on Friday afternoon by going to lunch and then trying out a new cupcake shop. Then, on Saturday we took a 2 hour road trip to a nearby city to check out their new outlet shoppes and do an engagement session. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but very fun!
Speaking of fun, Paul and I are off to vacation this week. But, have no fear because I've scheduled each photo challenge so that you guys can still link your photos. Yes, it meant taking my pictures in advance, but I just couldn't bear to leave the blog bare...haha, get it? Anyway, we'll be back Thursday so I'll share what we did then! Link up this week and I'll be back soon!

Nursery Progress: Changing Table
As you saw in the nursery mood board that I made, there is a mid-century dresser that Paul is re-doing into a changing table. The part shown on the mood board isn't the whole piece, here is the original dresser...
Paul started by removing the drawers, and then the locks using a dremel. That left us a couple of holes that we will eventually fill with wood putty. Then, he flipped it over and removed the legs. I'm actually really impressed with the legs because they are super sturdy and match the crib style perfectly. The only part we removed and threw out is the round metal part on the bottom. Now all we lack is putty, paint, and new knobs.

Day 17: On The Shelf. Here is a shelf in my kitchen above the stove. This is where I keep all my nicknacks that match my kitchen. It's a little cluttered, but I love it! I've got several things on there that are from England or that I've bought here that has a little bit on England on it.
For those of you who are new followers, my husband was born in England. And because I know you'll ask, he doesn't have an accent though. He came back to the states when he was a wee one. So in honor of his heritage I've put a little "theme" in my kitchen just for him.

scored
It has been awhile since I have had a good therapy of thrifting. Last night while my husband mowed the church lawn, I took the car and went around the block to a couple of thrift stores. I could have scored a ton of things that night, but budget told me no. I sacrificed by putting a few things back and ended up with 1 vintage pillow case, 1 vintage sheet, 1 yard of screen printed fabric and over 20 vintage patterns all for $7.
What have you scored lately?

22 Weeks
I'm a week behind on posting these, last week at 21 weeks baby was the size of a banana. Our ultrasound went perfect and we were thrilled to hear we're having a boy. This week until 24 weeks baby will be similar in size. Here I am today at 22 weeks...
Baby's now the size of a papaya!
"Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when, just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop." -thebump.com

Over the Weekend, Briefly
Saturday was spent with my in-laws. They came over and we went to the flea market inside the expo building. Thank goodness it was air conditioned! We spent about 2 hours walking through and looking for treasures. I actually left empty handed because they were a little more expensive than I expected. After the flea market we stopped by my favorite ice cream place Freckle's and I got my usual, "Crazy Cowboy." After eating our ice cream we went just a block down to the new store Buy Buy Baby to show them what we have registered for so far.
Saturday evening we finally received some much needed rain and a pretty strong thunderstorm that blew things over, etc. Electric was out in random parts of town, including my parent's. So my sister and new niece spent the night with us and we all went to church on Sunday. Here is my beautiful niece I have yet to share...
What did you do over the weekend?

Day 6: Childhood memory. When I was little, I absolutely loved books! My mom and grandma signed me up for the Disney book club and I received a book each month. Once I moved out to live with Paul after we got married, I only took what I could fit in our house. The other day I was going through some of my old things and I decided to take these home with me so that I could use them in the nursery. I think it will be so sweet to have our son reading my old books.
