3 Things...

1. He sleeps with his arms up. 2. Everything goes straight to his mouth now. His Little Sapling Toys wooden teether is coming in handy. 3. He has figured out how to turn himself sideways in the crib after a fit.

when skies are grey

The reason for this title post is sort of pun intended. We are both matching in our grey outfits and all week it has been rainy, cold and gloomy outside. We had planned to go on a walk after daddy got home from work last night, but it was just too cold for me.

Mama's wearing:
striped shirt- target
mustard cardigan- ross
black skirt- handmade
grey tights- wal-mart
grey bow flats- payless shoe source (these are very old)

Baby's wearing:
knit aviator hat- Tina B Designs on etsy
turtleneck onesie- carters
corduroy pants- carters
grey socks- target

Babbling and Smiling

We're getting lots of smiles, laughs, babbling, and squealing over here. Playtime is so much more interesting when Noah actually responds to our talking and grasps his toys. Yesterday we had quite the rainfall so Noah and I enjoyed staying indoors and mama even got a 2 hour nap! We're due for some more rain today, but we may brave it and get some errands done. I need to pick up some supplies for the Stitch Swap (more on that later) and I'm thinking a thrift store might please us!

Junk Food and Exercise

Those two things shouldn't even be in the same sentence, but they happened in the same week so therefore it's ok this time. Instead of doing my usual "weekend in instagrams" post I thought I'd share the highlights of my week.

On Tuesday we started out with cinnamon rolls in the evening after dinner. Then, Wednesday night we had coffee night and Bible study for our youth. This included muffins, donuts, etc. After church we went to Village Inn with some friends for their Free Pie Wednesday. By the end of the night I'm almost positive I consumed a million calories!

On Friday we went roller skating with my mom, sister, sister's boyfriend, and niece. I seriously thought that roller skating was a thing of the past and hardly anyone went anymore. Well I was proved wrong when we pulled up and saw a ton of junior high and high school kids waiting in line. How embarrassing to be one of the few oldest people in the whole building! Oh well we still had fun and I didn't fall.

Saturday Paul met up with a friend and they went golfing. He was gone for a good 4 hours so Noah and I just hung out at home until he was finished.
Did you have any junk food or exercise last week or over the weekend?

Movin' On Up!

In the technology world that is! Paul bought me an iPad 2 last night since they went down in price due to the new one coming out. Paul bought his a week ago. At first I was hesitant to buy one for myself. I have always thought it would be cool to have, but did I really need it? I'm not one for purchasing big things because I always feel guilty afterwards. That's just me! We have an iMac at home so we've never purchased a laptop. We were going to buy a Macbook Pro, but after seeing that the iPad can hook up to projectors, etc. for church and that 2 iPads would be cheaper than a Macbook Pro, we decided to go this route.

I spent a good 2 days searching for a case/cover. There's just not much out there other than sleeves or black folios. I really wanted this one from Kate Spade, but I just can't bring myself to pay that much so I purchased this one in red from Griffin. I like that it opens like a book.

So, tell me what are some must have apps for the iPad?

I already have these...
pages | keynote | facebook | twitter | blogger | adobe reader | Holy Bible | dropbox | checkbook | pinterest | instagram | the weather channel | skype | Bible.is | pandora | netflix | around me | craigslist | qr scanner | cuptakes | target | amazon | photoshop express | pic stitch | words with friends

Weekend in Instagrams

Paul got a new lens, well actually it was a thermos, but it's pretty cool! His sister sent it out for his birthday. I got a caramel apple spice that evening. I've been on a kick lately.
We made a quick run to Target on Thursday to get a few things that we needed for Spring Retreat and left with some yummy cookies from the $1 section. Paul had me try the Yan Yan and it was really good, but I liked the Panda cookies better!
On Friday and Saturday we took our students from church to the annual Spring Retreat. There were over 300 students there and the presence of God was phenomenal! Then, we took the kids to Dairy Queen for dinner on the way home Saturday.

What did you do over the weekend?

This Week...

Noah has learned to grab his keys and jingle them. We've been having playtime every morning and each day I'm seeing him learn more. He still doesn't care for tummy time, but we're working on it! He also did his first belly laugh this week. Oh how I wish there was a way to be prepared and video every second.

As mentioned in an earlier post, March 7th was our 3rd wedding anniversary. Since we attend church every Wednesday and Tuesday we had church activities we decided to go to dinner on Monday night. We headed to Olive Garden, which isn't that far from our house. After dinner Paul got me a caramel apple spice from Starbucks and we headed back home for a round of Monopoly. Paul and I are currently working on a Monopoly themed party for our students at church so we thought we'd take a refresher!

On Wednesday morning Paul woke me up and told me to go to the dining room. There were a dozen pink roses, a handmade owl card, and 3 candies that are my favorite! He sure does know how to make his wifey happy!

Tomorrow is packing day for us. We are spending Friday and Saturday at a camp for Spring Retreat with the students from our church. Grandma and Grandpa Turley will be keeping Noah overnight. It will be his first "sleepover." Pray for us all!

3 Years Today...

3 years ago on March 7th I married my best friend! I know a lot of women can say they married their best friend, but this is not just a clique for me. We do everything together and I would rather spend 24/7 with him than a group of girl friends...sorry ladies! He is everything I ever dreamed of in a husband and a father. He amazes me every day and I'm still learning things about him. I'm sure he's still learning things about me too! He already surprised me with flowers, a handmade card, and 3 of my favorite candies to represent 3 years. He's so creative and I love that! I hope Noah grows up to be a perfect husband just his daddy! Happy 3rd anniversary to my Paul!

DIY: Trash Bag Canister

I can't take credit for coming up with this re-purpose idea. I actually saw something similar on pinterest and decided to try it using trash bags instead. I've been saving this wipes container for a few months just for this project. I thought why not store the trash bags in something cute instead of an ugly box. Plus, the container still has a lemon smell from the wipes so it adds to the oder reduction of the trash bags.
Step 1: You will need an empty clorox wipes container, matte modge podge, a paint brush, fabric, and scissors.
Step 2-3: Wrap the fabric around the wipes container to see how much fabric you need and cut.
Step 4: Once you've cut the fabric out, start applying modge podge to the container using your paint brush.
Step 5: After applying the modge podge, place the fabric around the container, smoothing it out as you stick it on. After you've covered the container in fabric, apply modge podge to the outside of the seam to seal it.
Step 6: Apply glue to the inside, top of the container and apply the fabric from the top. Apply modge podge to the edges to seal it also. For the bottom you will do the same thing. The bottom will look a little bit different since there is more fabric on that end. It should end up looking sort of like a yo yo. Place the lid back onto the container and viola!

weekend finds

Over the weekend, Paul and I went to the indoor flea market. It takes a good 2 hours at least to get through it all. It is full of booths and always busy. Paul found a vintage camera for his collection. It came with the original bag, bulbs, and still has film. I found this metal box with a lid. I am not sure what I am going to use it for yet, but I do want it in my kitchen. I am thinking maybe a few succulents planted in it for my window sill.
